What do you need?

“Give, and it will be given to you: good measure shaken down and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use it will be measured back to you.” Luke 6:38
It’s simple really, if you want a friend, be a friend. If you want help, be helpful. If you want love, be loving. Luke 6:38 is an often quoted scripture in regards to money but I believe it applies to more than just money, it applies to our life.
This is a picture of my hubs being a friend and a help. I know he has got a lot coming back to him!

Good Morning!

Yesterday for breakfast I made these yummy Raspberry Chocolate Chip Protein Muffins (recipe at dashingdish.com). Don’t you agree that the raspberries are beautiful?!? Like little jewels that you almost hate to eat but they taste so good… Why did God spend so much time making every little creature, plant, animal, vegetable, mineral so beautiful?
Thats one of the things about God that amazes me, how beautiful he has made the world we live in. Think about it, he could have made the earth strictly functional. He could have placed everything we need here but made it all white or greige. He could have made a very utilitarian and boring world but he didn’t, he made it amazing! Ecclesiastes 3:11 says, “He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, He has put eternity in their hearts….” All theses beautiful things, from sunsets to sea shells, from raspberries to flowers are here to remind us of a loving God that has made us not just for this life but for the life to come. The design reminds us there is a designer , it reminds us that we were made for a purpose.

Streams in the Desert devotional and The One Year Bible.

This is a book I would recommend to anyone and everyone.

Love & Respect is what I’m reading right now.

I think that an important, even crucial part of our relationship with God is reading the Bible. It is how we get to know Him.   John 1:1 says, “in the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God.” Spend time with His Word and you are spending time with Him. Enough said.

I also believe we should make an effort to always be learning and growing which is the theme of the John Maxwell book “15 Invaluable Laws of Growth.” It is an excellent book that describes how John Maxwell came up with a “growth plan” in an effort to learn and grow on purpose and not depend on growing “by accident”.

Last but not least, this is what I’m reading right now, “Love & Respect” by Emerson Eggrich. I heard him speak at a Smart Conference hosted by Dave Ramsey and was impressed by what he had to say. I’ll let you know my thoughts when I’m done. So far  I love it!

These are suggestions of books that can help you to become the best you God made you to be!  It takes effort but it’s worth it!

Happy reading!
